Mass Learning Project Welcomes New Schools to Massachusetts Project Lead the Way Community
Mass Learning Project is excited to announce that 39 schools across the Commonwealth have been awarded grants, funded by the One8 Foundation and the state, to establish or expand Project Lead The Way (PLTW) programs in SY 2025-26! They join a community of more than 350 schools with PLTW programs in Massachusetts that provide high-quality Applied Learning experiences for students.
Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is the leading K-12 engineering, computer science, and biomedical science Applied Learning STEM curriculum and training provider. With the PLTW curriculum, students apply what they learn to solve problems that exist in our global and local communities.
Since 2023, Mass Learning Project has partnered with One8 to support PLTW implementation in Massachusetts by identifying, designing, and disseminating best practices and resources; and fostering an engaged statewide PLTW educator community.
Funds from the One8 PLTW grant will support teacher professional development and the purchase of educational materials and equipment. Additional opportunities for teachers and students offered by Mass Learning Project and the One8 Applied Learning Hub team include:
- Implementation support and planning: Services include scheduling, training, and equipment, along with access to best practices and connections to implementation experts.
- Professional learning opportunities: Conferences, convenings, and professional development days throughout the year to provide additional content support and networking opportunities for teachers and leaders.
- Authentic industry connections: Opportunities for students and educators to connect with relevant industry professionals, providing feedback on PLTW coursework through events, competitions, showcases, and classroom visits.
